Members of UUFN voted in a meeting on March 10 to conduct a capital campaign to raise funds for a building addition that was proposed by the Building Vision Team. To see images of the proposed project, see that Design Documents page of this website. The campaign, with a theme of “Widening the Circle,” will be a joint campaign to raise both funds for the annual budget and for the proposed project and will kick off on April 7.
A number of members of the congregation have stepped up to serve as Visiting Stewards. They will engage members of the congregation in conversation about UUFN and the project
and will make an ask for both annual and capital pledges.
We hope to raise at least $500,000 in pledges. The amounts that congregants can commit to this project will vary greatly. The Gifts Table shows the range of gifts that would be needed from a congregation of this size to raise $500,000.
Capital campaign gifts may be paid over three years. For those who are in a position to pay a substantial portion of the gifts before construction begins, it is helpful But for many, making a payment a month over three years will work better.
There are a number of different ways to give. Some will give with checks or automatic withdrawals from a bank account. Those who have appreciated stock or those who are at least 70 1⁄2 years old and have an IRA have other options which may give a tax advantage to their gift. The Ways of Giving document provides more details.
